For what should have been a comprehensive win over Cambodia, lapses of concentration allowed the visitors to make the game competitive. Goals on the night from Mckee, Itaparica, Alessandro Leonardo and Lo Kwan Yee eased the distance between the home side and Cambodia. Hong Kong were always somewhat in the driving seat and held significant advantages all over the field though at times took their foot off the gas and constantly let Cambodia back into the match unnecessarily. The game ended 4-2.
With the game against Turkmenistan cancelled, the next Hong Kong international is against Singapore on October 11th.
