Founded in 1931, Kitchee enjoyed a successful spell in the late 1940’s, winning the old First Division in the 1947-48 season and once again two years later. After their third title in 1964, the club slipped into relative obscurity until shortly after the turn of the century, when they finished as runners-up in the 2003-04 season following their return to the top flight. Since then, the club has gone from strength to strength, with the club winning 4 out of the last 5 championships, making them the third most successful side behind South China and Seiko in Hong Kong’s footballing history. They have also performed well since first entering into Asian continental competitions, and in 2015 they reached the semi-finals of the AFC Cup before eventually succumbing to Iraqi side Erbil in a closely fought 3-2 loss. In the 2016/17 season, they qualified for the group stages of the AFC Champions League 2018 after claiming the Premier League title in the final match against Eastern, meaning they will be competing against heavyweight opposition from China, Korea and Japan. With the likes of play-makers Fernando, Lam Zhi Gin and Sandro in their squad, they are a club that expect nothing but success in all competitions.

① Kitchee are eight time champions, four of those titles coming in the last six years, and are without doubt favourites for the title again this season.

② Due to Kitchee’s recent success, they have been regularly competing in AFC competitions – the AFC Champions League and the AFC Cup. After winning the Premier League last year, they will be participating in the group stages of the AFC Champions League in 2018.

③ They have been based in Mong Kok for 4 seasons now, a centrally-located stadium that is easily accessible to all.
