Around 3,400 people found their way to Mong Kok Stadium on 28 December 2014 to watch an emotional derby between South China and Eastern AA. It was also the first game for SCAA’s new head coach Mario Gomez, whose appointment remains to be controversial. Eastern seemed to sense this opportunity and hammered the insecure Caroliners, leading to a comfortable 3-1 lead at half time. The other 45 minutes saw no goals, but still an emotional exchange that lived up to the expectations of this long-standing rivalry. We definitely want more of this sort.
