The Hong Kong football community was rocked this week after alarming news concerning Premier League champions Eastern’s debut match in the Asia Champions League against China Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande. After tickets were initially offered for purchase to Eastern season ticket holders, the remaining seats at Mong Kok Stadium went on general sale online. With Evergrande’s away section allocation becoming quickly sold out and with the website requiring no more than a name for purchase, many away fans began purchasing tickets for seats in the home section, much to the ire of many Hong Kong football fans.
