I’m here to defend the performance of Tsang Man Fai once more. Let us take a look at the four goals he conceded over the two games.
1) This goal was more the fault of the defense than the keeper. The Guangdong player was completely free to head the ball in a position very close to the goal and there really wasn’t much Tsang Man Fai could do. The ball was very close to the goal but not close enough for Tsang to come out and collect it. The defense really should have cleared it.
2) Again, another goal conceded because of sloppy defending. Tsang actually saved the free kick, which was going top corner. It was simply unfortunate for the ball to rebound off the frame back into play, directly at the feet of a Guangdong player. Three Guangdong players were completely free in front of the goal, so if the HK defenders stayed on them, this goal could have been prevented.
3) Ok, here Tsang should have done better. He should have tipped the ball to the side or towards the back of the goal, but to be fair, he still saved the initial shot.
4) The only goal conceded in the Hong Kong Stadium was an absolute corker. It was simply a world-class free-kick, absolute upper Benjamins, nothing Tsang or any other HK keeper could do.
Please feel free to disagree with me. 🙂
PS: Samba Boys is a very cheeky name.
