Gallery: Eastern Defeat South China in 4-3 Classic

Historical rivals Eastern and South China played out an absolute classic in the form of a seven-goal thriller, which saw the Blues emerging triumphant.

The reigning champions were seemingly cruising to a straightforward victory after pulling ahead to a 2-0 lead, but a spirited South China comeback with a few twists in the tale, saw the Caroliners battle back to 3-3. The clock was ticking down and a draw seemed likely, with Kitchee benefitting most from Eastern potentially dropping points. 

However, it was Eastern’s Bai He – in the news for resigning from the Hong Kong national team following a dispute with Kim Pan-gon – who scored the winning goal in injury time. Pandemonium and organized chaos ensued…
