The HKFA is all set for the upcoming away game against Bhutan in Thimphu, 2320 m above sea level. On October 5th the 24 men squad departed for Bangkok, where they will play a friendly against the Thai national team on October 9th at the Rajamangala National Stadium. Two days later the team will arrive in Bhutan, preparing to take on the young host team on October 13th. After thrashing Bhutan 7-0 at Mong Kok Stadium, expectations are high that Hong Kong will achieve a similarly comfortable win, which would help to further secure the 3rd spot in the World Cup qualifier group.
Meanwhile HKFA also announced another friendly game date: On Saturday, November 7th, Hong Kong will take on Myanmar at Mong Kok Stadium (Kick Off: 5 pm, Tickets: HK$ 130/40). The team will then fly to the Maldives for their away game on November 12th, before returning to Hong Kong for the highly anticipated clash against China on November 17th. The venue for this match is still not confirmed, with the latest news indicating that the game will most likely take place at Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground with a capacity of about 12,000 seats.
