Sunday HKPL Predictions

Round 12 of the Premier League continues today, and with Dreams taking a break for the weekend, Jeff Hardbattle caught up with their Spanish defender Pablo Gallardo to get his predictions for the remaining games on Sunday.

PEGASUS v EASTERN

(2:30pm, Hong Kong Stadium)

With both Kitchee and South China dropping points yesterday, Eastern can again assert their authority at the top if they can gain victory away to a Pegasus side who have had an indifferent campaign thus far, losing their last outing at home to Dreams by 0:3 and could now find it difficult to finish in the AFC Cup playoff places. The blues, meanwhile, are flying and are yet to be defeated in the current Premier League campaign, and Pablo thinks they will have too much for their opponents today.

Eastern are the best team in the league right now, and are playing very well. Pegasus lost their last game at home and don’t seem to have much confidence, so I’m going for an away win”.

PREDICTION: 1:3 win for Eastern

RANGERS v WONG TAI SIN

(5;30pm, Kowloon Bay Park)

A match of huge importance for both sides, this is arguably the match of the weekend. Rangers have been performing well in the cup competitions of late, having won their group in the League Cup ahead of teams such as Eastern and Pegasus, but have found scoring in the Premier League to be a big problem, having found the net just 3 times this season. Wong Tai Sin have produced some solid performances, but also are finding it difficult in front of goal, and Pablo thinks both teams’ lack of goals will play into the result.

“This is a very important game for both sides, as both teams look to avoid relegation. For this reason, I think this will be a hard game in the middle of the field with very few clear cut chances, so I think it will be a draw”.

PREDICTION: 0:0 draw

Both games will be televised live on on.cc’s online tv channel ontv, which can be seen here.
