The Hong Kong Top Footballer Awards for the 2015/16 season are now open for public voting at http://www.hkfa.com/en/vote (HKID required). The voting will last until May 8th and the winners will be announced at the “2015/16 Hong Kong Top Footballer Awards Ceremony” on May 19th (broadcast by on.cc).
The awards this year feature several prize categories, such as “Footballer of the Year”(1 winner), “Hong Kong Top Footballers”(1 goalkeeper, 4 defenders, 4 midfielders, 2 strikers), “Coach of the Year”(1 winner) , “Young Players of the Year” (2 winners) and “Most Favorite Player”(1 winner). There will also be a new award, labelled “Players’ Player of the Year”, which is voted by all current registered players in the league.
By voting their favorite footballers and also writing down the reasons of being their fans, league enthusiasts may get the opportunity to attend the gala on May 19. The HKFA will select 12 winners with the best comments to join the event.
Echoing the theme “Let’s Go Crazy” of this Premier League season, the award this year is themed as “Let’s Vote Crazily” to encourages football fans in Hong Kong to fully support their favorite team and players and express their passion and love by putting them into votes. In addition, this year the awards are promoted with the help of the popular Mr. Men Little Miss characters.
