According to Mingpao Sports, tickets for the highly anticipated game between China and Hong Kong in the 2018 World Cup Qualification will be priced extraordinarily high. The HKFA has been allocated 2,000 tickets instead of the initially proposed 3,200 (8% of the total capacity of 40,000), as the CFA decided to factor in empty buffer zones between the two fan groups.
Supporters from Hong Kong are likely to pay 1,680 RMB (2,100 HK$) per ticket. However, there might also be a more affordable set for 800 RMB (1,000 HK$) on offer. In comparison, for the home game the HKFA has set the price at only HK$ 150 per person.
The game will take place in Shenzhen’s Bao’an Stadium on September 3rd, a public holiday in both Hong Kong and Mainland China. Kick Off is scheduled for 19:35.
There haven’t been any details yet on the ticket sales and distribution. But it is said that fans from Hong Kong need to register first with their Home Return Permit. It remains unclear if this would mean that temporary and non-HK residents will be excluded from obtaining tickets.
