Six Chinese cities have come forward as potential hosts for HK’s first away match in the 2018 World Cup and 2019 Asian Cup Qualifiers. Hong Kong football fans will be interested to see whether they will have a long or short trip to the mainland. Candidates for the game on September 3rd are Shenzhen, Baotou (Inner Mongolia), Dalian, Shenyang (both Liaoning), Qingdao (Shandong) and X’ian (Shaanxi). Xi’an is the only city that made bids for all of China’s home games. Of course we keep our fingers crossed for Shenzhen, but it is rather unlikely to have the game right at our doorstep… don’t you think?
