Kitchee and Rangers bosses step down

Abraham Garcia has announced his resignation as Kitchee coach with only four games of their season remaining. While some mediocre performances from the team might be related to his sudden departure, the decision nevertheless comes as a big shock. Kitchee have fought their way back into the title race and also came out on top in their first AFC Cup group game against Kaya FC, but now face an uncertain end to the season. At this time it remains unclear who will be Garcia’s successor, and until then Chu Chi Kwong will take over on an interim basis.

Just a few days earlier, Rangers coach Ricardo Rambo made similar headlines, when he took up a position as assistant coach at South China. The unexpected departure comes at a time when Rangers are in a battle for survival to stay in the Premier League. Former Sun Hei and Tuen Mun coach Yan Lik Kin will manage the team for the rest of the season.
